TOXINS AND BODY WEIGHT

Updated: May 6, 2024

In the world we live in we are exposed to immense amount of toxins and not only from what and how we how we eat, but also pollutants from the environment, beauty and cleaning products, medication and recreational drugs to name a few. Most of them are unfamiliar, which makes the body confused. Our bodies are not fully equipped to deal with/against toxins that are new for our system. The body gets overwhelmed.

Apart from the physical toxicity we exposed the body to, we also carry beliefs and emotions that can become toxic in our lives, blocking us very often of achieving and sustaining our desired weight. This is what I call the psychological toxicity, which can impact very important hormonal responses though cortisol and insulin that affect a healthy body weight and can make us resistant to lose weight.

Our bodies can deal with certain amount, kinds and intensity of toxins, but when this range is too high, the body creates strategies to protect itself, one of this mechanisms is the formation of fat tissue as well as inflammation to store the toxins away from the internal organs (liver, kidneys and others), where vital functions are carried out. It is important therefore to check which kind of food and how we are eating to see in which ways we ae overloading the body with toxins that make us overweight.

Most ready meals, excess of sugar, preservatives, ultra-processed carbohydrates can also alter our metabolic hormones such as leptins and insulin. It sets the body for weigh gain and unbalances. Another important factor is that when the body is full of toxins, the metabolism and physiology in general slows down since the body is busy trying to sort out the toxins, this at the same time creates stress since the body is an efficient machine that given the right conditions function harmoniously, when the conditions are not given there is stress. Stress affects hormones, it activates the cortisol and adrenalin which affect insulin, leptin and circadian cycles which is a fundamental regulatory system for our metabolism and physiology in general.

Physical detox is paramount when we are on the path of finding our ideal body weight. Providing the body with time and the right protocols is important in the journey to reset the physiology as well as drinking plenty of clean water and fluids is necessary if we want to tap into body detox.

Having a clean life style, avoiding as much as possible processed food and chemicals in our diet and environment as a way of living reduce the toxicity, making the body efficient and lean. However doing periodic detoxing protocols is important for the body since we all are exposed and ingesting toxins regardless our level of awareness with what we eat and how we live.

Some detoxing strategies:

Colon IrrigationL

Liver Cleansings

Kidneys Cleanses

Water

Organic Food.

Regular Physical Exercise

Well structure Water

2. Thoughts become emotions, emotions become actions and actions manifest in results. If we have negative paradigms and self- beliefs around our body weight, and body shape, they create the foundation of our behaviours and become the toxins in our energetic system and field. These toxins have deep and strong effects in the body’s physiology, Body performance and efficiency. Mental and emotional stress crate body stress and alter insulin, cortisol, leptin and circadian rhythm as well, creating the right situation for body weigh gain.

When we have toxic emotions, they become obstacles and blocks in the achievement of specific goals. In the case of losing weight goals, , there are emotions having to do with self-love, self-confidence, power over own decisions, belonging, body ownership and safety, guilt, shame, victimhood, guilty, sense of safety and protection. There are many emotions that limit body love. They are the mental toxins that in the same way that physical toxins, need to be cleared up to set up a healthy body love mindset.

From what I have seen some of the most common emotional toxins:

-Around Safety: If we don’t feel safe or protected in our bodies

-Around self love/deserving: We don’t consider ourselves deserving, attractive

-Shame, guilt, victims, sense of belonging

There are different protocols to clear up our negative emotions, some of them:

PSYCHK-K: A psycho spiritual process base on the science of brain integration

The Sedona Method: letting go Process.

EFT: Emotional Freedom Technique: based on tapping body meridians to release negative emotions and beliefs

Inner Child Work, Shadow Work, Feeding your demons

These are the ones I am more familiar with but there are many more.

I would suggest the first thing to do is self-observation of your thoughts and emotions around your own body and how they are reflected in your body weight an the way how you behave around food, eating, cravings, exercising and all the aspects that are related to having and sustaining a healthy body Weight
